The nu metal band Linkin Park originated in L.A. in 1996 by Mike Shinoda, Rob Bourdon, and Brad Delson, who were three friends in high school. Some of their well-known songs are “Numb,” “In the End,” “Breaking the Habit,” and “What I’ve Done.” The band has not played music and still has no intentions of making, performing, or releasing anything since the death of the lead singer, Chester Bennington, in 2017. When still active they won MTV awards for Best Rock Video and the Viewer’s Choice Award.
Three Days Grace, originally called Groundswell, is an example of a band of many genres, they are described as “post-grunge, hard rock, alternative rock, alternative metal, and nu metal. The group was formed in 1992 in Norwood, Ontario by Adam Gontier, Barry Stock, Neil Sanderson, and Brad Walst. They’re known for their songs “I Hate Everything About You,” “Animal I Have Become,” “Riot,” and “Pain.” Some of their biggest accomplishments are having 7 number-one singles and releasing seven studio albums, with a record of fourteen #1 hits on Mainstream Rock.
Motionless In White is described as a metalcore, gothic metal, industrial metal, horror metal, and nu metal band. They formed very close to home in Scranton, Pennsylvania in 2004! Chris Motionless, Angelo Parente, Frank Polumbo, and Kyle White were the founders of the band. Some of their most popular songs are “Sign Of Life,” “Masterpiece,” “Another Life,” and “Cyberhex.” One of their biggest accomplishments is being awarded their first Gold Single.
Incubus is an alternative band that was formed in Calabasas, California in 1991 by vocalist Brandon Boyd, lead guitarist Mike Einziger, and drummer José Pasillas. They are well known for their popular songs “Drive,” “Pardon Me,” “Dig,” and “Wish You Were Here.” One of their biggest accomplishments is selling over 23 million records worldwide.
