“Impractical Jokers” is a comedic reality show that aired in 2011 and stole millions of hearts – and laughs. Originally starring Sal Vulcano, Joe Gatto, James Murray, and Brian Quinn, it’s a show that was considered ahead of its time and the future of comedy as we know it.
The show featured the four best friends, Sal, Joe, Murr, and Q, putting each other through embarrassing and hilarious scenarios in public, mostly involving innocent bystanders who have no idea they are on TV, bringing a whole new definition to the word ‘humiliation’.
Within the last two years, fans of Impractical Jokers received news that would break their hearts forever.
Joe Gatto, a fan favorite on the show, was leaving- indefinitely.
Fans were uproared, hearts broken and tears fallen. How could Joe leave the show that brought him so much fame, and fans so many laughs?
Joe and the Impractical Jokers family saw this uproar and decided to speak out.
Joe expressed that he was quitting the show to focus on being a father and co-parenting his two kids after a separation from his wife, Bessy.
Soon after this, Joe and Bessy were able to reconcile their marriage and celebrated their 11-year anniversary in September of 2023.
Despite this, Joe confided in fans and the media that he has no plans to rejoin the show.
So, what happens now?
Does Impractical Jokers continue on with only three of the original Jokers?
Not quite.
Now, with fans expressing how terrible they feel about the show now that Joe is gone, the Impractical Jokers team has taken a new route when it comes to the show.
Instead of their beloved fourth member, they have opted for a solution that would hopefully fill the voids in the hearts of their beloved fans, which involves celebrity guest stars and much more.
Despite this change, fans seem to still be unsatisfied, but appreciative of the attempts to reconcile their connections to the show.
Impractical Jokers will truly never be the same without Joe, but true fans know and realize that this is a change for the better. Joe made a smart and mature choice, and despite his bright humor and wit being lost from the program, it’s still an amazing show.
