GNA Success Stories – John Parsons
Get to know John Parsons
“As a student at GNA, I was less than enthusiastic about learning and being successful, but they gave me all the tools necessary to believe I could do anything I wanted. I joined the military and served eight years in the United States Air Force. I’ve traveled from North Dakota to Okinawa, Japan. I’ve been on rescue missions and protected our nuclear weapons. I am an example of changing your life and chasing your dreams.
The position I’m in now as a Lieutenant of Police at the VA has given me the ability to impact the lives of so many of my fellow veterans. I am able to reach and help those who have given so much to our country. A few months ago, I was honored by the VA for performing CPR and saving a veteran’s life. I have talked to individuals who were contemplating ending their lives, and I’ve talked them back from the edge. I believe I am successful because every day, I impact the lives of veterans. I hope to touch the lives of many more veterans and save as many as possible.
I truly believe from where I started to where I am now, I have made a total transformation, and I’m thankful for all the staff at GNA for never giving up on me. They are all a part of my personal growth, and I’m grateful for each and every one of them. I do truly care about Nanticoke. I have traveled to many places, and now I’ve come home.”
