GNA CAMPUS – “June 2015 was my first ever real photo shoot, and ever since then, it has been one wild journey. I love hearing my clients say that I captured some of the most important times in their lives. One of my most memorable shoots was with one of my couples during Covid, in September of 2020:and they were actually one of my couples that didn’t cancel. They got married at Sand Springs, and instead of getting married in the ballroom, they got married out in the gardens–it was all outside. Unfortunately, the bride’s grandfather couldn’t come because he was in a nursing home and they were nervous with Covid. So they FaceTimed him and his staff put a suit on him and gave him a boutonniere and made sure he was with us the whole time, and I got a picture with him and completely lost it because it showed the staff cared that much for that grandfather. It was just very, very touching.
It’s extremely important to me to give back to the community that has given so much to me. Since the passing of my mother in 2020, I wanted to make a difference in her name. This is where the idea of my annual “Mas & Paws” Mother’s Day Photos started. All I asked for was the participants to bring supplies or a monetary donation for our local SPCA. In return, they would receive a photo of themselves and their fur-babies. I am proud to say we raised over $2k and three SUVs full of supplies over two years!
Last year, I wanted to make a difference within the walls of GNA. I wanted to highlight a student that was furthering their education within the arts field. The student who was selected was presented with a monetary scholarship from my business to help subside any expenses. And I’ll be presenting a scholarship every year until I retire from photography.”
