Getting To Know Our Staff: Ms. Cragle
What College did you go to and what did you major in?
Allegheny College, Major in English with a Creative Writing Specialty and a minor in classical studies
How do you view education differently now from when you were a high school student?
I’ve learned to appreciate the range of subjects offered to high school students more than I did when I was young. Adults don’t get the chance to explore different subjects once we enter our decided careers.
What has your experience been like so far at GNA?
Walking through these hallways reminds me of a zoo with no glass walls. Very scary, but interesting.
What is something people don’t know about you?
I have a dog named Toby “Spider-Man” McGuire. (That was the name he had from the shelter.)
What are your hobbies outside of school?
Reading, knitting, and hiking.
What is your favorite song of all time?
Death Valley by Fall Out Boy.
If you could meet one person, living or dead, who would it be? Why?
Jim Henson. His life and career would be very interesting to learn more about, plus he was really good at impressions so if I wanted to meet someone else as well, he could just pretend for me.
What is your biggest piece of advice for students?
If you have even the tiniest amount of interest in something, give it a try while you’re still young. Now is the time in your lives when you’re going to find many of the hobbies and skills that could lead you down the path to careers you really love. It’s okay if you end up not following every path you try out so long as it leads to the perfect one for you in the end.
