The Avengers spoiler-free review

Today I will be doing a spoiler-free review of The Avengers. This is one of the biggest and most prestigious movies Marvel has ever made and is what really made their franchise. It has amazing action from beginning to end, with great cinematography, the score is perfect, and the characters are amazing. This movie is mostly about 6 remarkable people who have to come together and fight together against a force that is stronger than they’ve ever seen. They set up this movie at the end of Thor as Loki is trying to take over the earth and a big part of that is taking over their minds. The 6 heroes in this movie are Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk, Hawkeye, and Black Widow. Hawkeye and Black Widow are in Thor and Iron Man respectively. They aren’t major characters before this but it does set up their future in the MCU.

The main antagonist is Loki as I mentioned before, and Tom Hiddleston just does an amazing job playing a cocky and arrogant villain. He has his own army that is introduced throughout the movie to try and fight our heroes. Just as in Thor, whenever Loki is on the screen I was interested and didn’t want to look away, and he is truly one of the best villains in Marvel ever. There is also a major post-credit scene that sets up future movies down the line which was very cool to see.

I always rate the marvel movies and I rate them based on 10 things in the movie. Those things are action, acting, cinematography, pacing, score, characters, ending, plot, protagonist, and antagonist. I rate all of those pieces 1-10 and then after that, I add up the scores of all 10 of them and get a total score out of 100. I rated The Avengers an 87/100 and it is one of the first amazing movies Marvel put out. All the movies before this were solid and only 1-2 were not good, but this is a standout movie that sets up Marvel to be one of, if not the biggest franchise of all time.
