This week in History 11/13 – 11/18

This week in history several interesting things occurred:

On November 13, 1927,  the Holland Tunnel opens to traffic, becoming the first vehicle tunnel linking New Jersey to New York.

On  the 13th of November, 1940, Disney’s Fantasia is first released at the Broadway theater.  Also,

On November 18th 1963, the first Push Button telephone goes into service.

On the 14th, big things were going on in space. Mariner 9 entered orbit around Mars and in 1969, NASA’s Apollo program launched Apollo 12, the second crewed mission to the surface of the moon.

On the 16th, in 1969, U.S. President Richard Nixon becomes the first U.S President to attend a regular season NFL game.

In 1971 Intel releases the worlds first commercial single chip microprocessor, the Intel 4004.

In November of 1973,  Nixon Signed the Trans-Alaska Pipeline authorization act into law.
