Marvel Reviews: Part 3

Iron Man

Iron Man spoiler free review

Today I will be doing a spoiler-free review of Iron Man. This movie is definitely one of my favorite original marvel movies.  There isn’t an insane amount of action in this movie until the third act. The cinematography is very well done and it has some very good storytelling. Tony Stark has a very good character arc from being an obnoxious billionaire to nearly dying and dedicating his life to making the world better as Iron Man. Robert Downey Jr. was the perfect pick for Iron Man/Tony Stark.

The villain in this movie isn’t my favorite in Iron Monger. The story of Iron Man vs Iron Monger is definitely interesting, but when Iron Monger was on the screen by himself I was never fully interested. The side characters in this movie were pretty good with Happy Hogan being Tony’s bodyguard/chauffeur. Pepper Pots is Tony’s personal assistant and friend. From the beginning, you can tell they have a good relationship and are close and their bond throughout the movie is nice to watch.

I always rate the marvel movies and I rate them based on 10 things in the movie. Those things are action, acting, cinematography, pacing, score, characters, ending, plot, protagonist, and antagonist. I rate all of those pieces 1-10  and then after that, I add up the scores of all 10 of them and get a total score out of 100. Iron Man gets 71/100 for me mostly because the characters, protagonist, acting, cinematography, and action in the third act carried the movie for me. However, the pacing, ending, and antagonist was nothing special and brought the score of the movie down a good amount.
