Funding Issues In Schools
Support our sophomore class fundraiser
Many school districts must endure funding issues year in and year out. That is because schools put a lot of money into important things such as educational needs, teachers, maintenance, food, etc. As a result, districts don´t have extra funds for festivities. We have to understand, as students, that our school wants the best for us, and they want to give us a great high school experience. The staff does their best to gather money for our trips, our proms, and other activities that involve us.
For example, on February 11th, our school announced to the sophomore class that they need help with the expenses for Prom. I instantly noticed the students got upset about that. They shouldn´t get upset. There are schools that instantly cancel proms and other activities without consulting us. We need to appreciate that our school went out its way to involve our class in keeping up our festivities.
I understand where the students are coming from too. I get it – it’s not our job to provide money to the school in order to have a prom, but if we want to have fun memories in our years of high school, that is the least we can do. Anything helps. Instead of being mad about prom, why not do something about it? All together we can get our families involved and put money towards giving us a fun prom.
Our school helps us a lot. We wouldn´t be who we are today if it wasn´t for the district and those who support us daily. Students now need to step up and show their support by getting involved. Nice things just don’t happen, we have to make them happen. We have to volunteer our time and make an effort to ensure we make lasting memories here at GNA.
We need to act fast and support this fundraiser. All Revello’s orders are due on February 23rd. Help make our prom great next year by selling as much as you can. All checks should be made out to the GNA Sophomore Class, and all payments should be placed inside an envelope with your name on it. All orders are due by February 23 and will be delivered on March 4th.
I hope my peers will be involved!
