Junior Leadership Wilkes-Barre hosts dog walk for a cause
On Saturday, May 12, 2018, myself and my Junior Leadership Wilkes-Barre group hosted “Paws for a Cause Dog Walk” at Kirby Park. Despite the rainy weather, dog owners came out in support of the dog walk that benefited Blue Chip Animal Refuge: a no-kill animal shelter in Dallas.
The Dog Walk went around Kirby Parks levy and back down to the Martz pavilion where dogs had complementary treats. Their human owners also had complementary snacks and we’re able to enter to win an assortment of raffle baskets. In total the group raised over $1,000.
