Interact Club officially starts the new year

GNA CAMPUS- What does the word “service” mean to you? To the Rotary Club, it means building leadership and providing community service while having fun in the process. Its members urge high school kids to take action, build international understanding, and make new friends around the world.” Its motto? “Service Above Self.” The Greater Nanticoke Area School District is proud to have its very own Interact Club—a subset of Rotary—right here in Room 226.

So, why should you join Interact? Well, if you like making friends, memories, and helping others, Interact is the club for you! The president, Alicia Pacheco, and the rest of the club are arranging field trips, parties, and movie nights—all while keeping traditional fun activities, such as the Salvation Army bell-ringing and book readings at the Kennedy Center, among many others.

Why else should you join? National Honor Society and French/Spanish Honor Society service hours! If you need hours, volunteering at the book readings, bell-ringings, and the Empty Bowls Project will help you rack them up! But not every meeting on Friday is about planning new service activities; there are interesting speakers, fun games, and, on some days, even parties!

Listen to the announcements for meetings in 226 on Friday at 2:00, and become a member of the GNA Interact Club!
